NEW: Portuguese Language

UPDATE: CCBill launched Portuguese language forms a couple of weeks ago to help reach more Portuguese speaking buyers – since according to Wikipedia – Portuguese is the official language the official language of six different countries: Portugal, Brazil, Mozambique, Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, and São Tomé and Príncipe.

The multi-language forms work with our auto-sensing systems, which detect location and language settings – as well as our cascading forms – which work with alternate processors.

What is interesting – and something we anticipated – is the outcome of the addition of this language has actually resulted in a noticeable increase in transactions from these markets. We have seen on most days an additional 1,000+ transactions which can be attributed to these markets.

Another interesting note (which I did not know) is that one of our major payment types, JCB, is actually kinda popular in Brazil and all over South America, so we with the introduction of Portuguese, we have seen some movement in JCB transactions.

Goes to show what we have been discussing: when going global, it is important to keep your focus local. Understanding local markets can make a difference in providing a comfortable purchase experience vs an insecure process.
